Dr. Stephanie Don Carlos, Lyric Soprano, most recently appeared as guest artist featured in the gala opening of Ballet Tucson, with her husband, Tenor William Don Carlos, where she sang arias by Puccini and Verdi. Dr. Don Carlos has appeared as Pamina in Mozart’s “The Magic Flute,” in Rome, Italy. This versatile classical soprano has also appeared as soloist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Baltimore Symphony, and the Phoenix Symphony. She has sung under some of the greatest maestri: Sir Georg Solti, Maestro James Levine, Carlo Maria Giulini, Gennady Rozhdezensky, and Leonard Slatkin, to name a few. Dr. Don Carlos has appeared in lead roles in many opera productions, including: Das Rheingold, Die Götterdämmerung with Arizona Opera. She has sung the title roles of Carmen, The Merry Widow, La Cenerentola, and The Barber of Seville. She has been featured for the past three years as recitalist, appearing in Phoenix in the Classics Concert Series. She has also appeared in Alamos, Mexico as recitalist in the Juan Ortiz Festival. She maintains a private voice and piano studio in the Catalina Foothills of Tucson, Arizona.
